  • Golf Fundamentals Camp

    Grades 6-8
    If you have a child who is under the age requirement and meets all other criteria, please contact Virgil Herring for approval.
    In this camp, students will receive instruction from top-level coaches on the fundamentals of golf. Campers will begin the morning working on their golf skills at Harpeth Valley Golf Center and then enjoy an hour of games and activities on Ensworth’s High School Campus. Min 10/Max 12

  • Golf Skill Development Camp

    Ages 13-16
    If you have a child who is under the age requirement and meets all other criteria, please contact Virgil Herring for approval.
    Want to improve your golf game this summer? Golf Skill Development camp is designed for golfers who have an understanding of the fundamentals of golf and have played multiple age-appropriate rounds. Campers will receive instruction from acclaimed golf coach Virgil Herring on how to fine-tune their golf swing, analyze their putting stroke, learn the fine points of bunker play and more. Coach Herring will perform a full swing evaluation, short game assessment, mental skills assessment and work with the golfer on their course strategy. Max 4

  • Middle School Skill Development Clinics

    Tuesdays and Thursdays
    5:30-6:30 PM
    Max: 4 students 
    Pat Sellers will lead these afterschool skill development clinics. Each day will focus on a different topic of instruction to help players train to be the best they can be. 

    Cost: $45 per day

  • Virgil Herring

    Virgil Herring joined Ensworth in 2017 as the Head Coach of the High School Girls' and Boys' Varsity Golf teams. Herring received his degree in Professional Golf Management and Marketing from Mississippi State University and qualified as a Golf Professional in 1994.
     
    Herring has an extensive background in golf instruction, with more than 20 years of experience and over 32,000 lessons taught. He is a Charter Member Golf Channel Academy Lead Instructor and a two-time recipient of the Tennessee PGA Section Teacher of the Year. Herring has taught two PGA tour winners, two Web.com Tour winners, and more than 154 junior golfers who have earned college golf scholarships.
