All 4 Ensworth: Faculty Professional Development

Faculty across all three divisions will be participating in prominent and helpful professional development opportunities this summer.
In the Lower School, Whitney Earhart, Camy Sanchez, Kelly Goorevich, and Sukey Johnson will attend the Responsive Classroom Course for Elementary Educators. The course dives into the integration of social-emotional and academic skill building in order to build classroom environments that further promote collaboration, engagement, community, and belonging.

Ash Weber, Associate Dean of Students at the high school, will be exploring something similar to apply to our High School Campus. Ash will attend the Greater Good Science Center Summer Institute for Educators at the University of California-Berkeley. This institute explores the science of prosocial human development and assists educators in the areas of social-emotional learning, mindfulness, and character education for students.

Middle School Latin teacher, Trey House, will begin a master's degree program at the Peabody College of Education at Vanderbilt University, focusing on Independent School Leadership.

And Elias Salazar, Director of Choral and Orchestral Music at the high school, will attend the Tennessee Arts Academy’s "Trio Track" for arts educators. The program is a multidisciplinary approach to teaching and learning in the areas of music, theater, and visual art.

All of these professional development opportunities are made possible because of the Annual Fund. Help ensure our educators are able to continue the pursuit of lifelong learning and consider a gift to the 2017-2018 Annual Fund today.
