Middle School Sports Excel in HVAC Championships

Four Middle School athletic teams excel in Harpeth Valley Athletic Conference (HVAC) championships.

Varsity Girls Tennis

The Ensworth Middle School Varsity Girls Tennis won Top Flight at the HVAC Tennis Tournament yesterday. Ensworth captured 4 of the 5 flight championships and dominated the point total.

Ensworth Flight winners were:

#2 Singles: Hadley McCormick
#3 Singles: Genevieve Schaefer
#1 Doubles: Amelia Laffer/Vivian Morrow
#2 Doubles: Olivia Prentice/Erin Schuh

Other Varsity players include #1 singles player Anna Brock, Bella Chadwick, Anna Belle Needham, Grace Hasselbeck, Amy Halloran, and Flannery Pruitt.

Varsity Boys Tennis

Middle School Boys Varsity Tennis claimed 2nd in Top Flight of HVAC Championship on Tuesday, September 26.

Eli Schuh, Karim Daouk, and Sam Horne advanced to the finals of their flights in singles. Doubles teams of Tommy Frist/Duncan Coppeans and John Morrow/Stephen Johnson advanced to the finals of their flights, as well. The group placed a very close 2nd place to a very experienced MBA team, winning 19 games while dropping 36—a solid improvement.

Their respect for opponents, teammates and their representation of Ensworth was exemplary.

Varsity Boys Golf

The Ensworth Middle School golf team announces four state champions: Toby WIlt, Bo Maradik, Tallent Brown and Edward Hull.

Toby Wilt - Individual Champion 3 under par (32)
Edward Hull - Top 5 - 1 under par (34)
Bo Maradik - Top 5 - Even par (35)
Tallent Brown - Top 5 - 3 over par (38)

This group has not lost a match in 3 years, undefeated throughout their middle school career, 3 consecutive HVAC championships!

Varsity Girls Golf

The Ensworth Girls’ Team took the first place trophy for the second year in a row with Marshall Wilt, Vaughan Banks, and Katherine Dagley placing 2nd, 3rd and 6th as individuals, respectively. As a team, they beat USN by one stroke which made for an exciting finish! The team this year also included Mamie Levi and Claire Gracey, who provided additional depth.

Middle School Varsity Volleyball

The Middle School Girls Varsity Volleyball team won the HVAC "A" Division on Wednesday at the league tournament at Harpeth Hall. Congratulations to another championship team!
