Ashley Slay Glotta APSU hall of fame

Volleyball Coach and Alum Inducted into Austin Peay Hall of Fame

Ashley Slay Glotta, Head Volleyball Coach at the High School and 2014 alumna of Ensworth, recently received Hall of Fame honors from her alma mater, Austin Peay State University (APSU) in Clarksville.
Apart from her storied career at Ensworth as a multi-sport athlete, Ashley had a four-year career with the Govs, playing both middle blocker and right-side hitter and helping lead the team to the 2017 Ohio Valley Conference regular season and tournament championships. After receiving OVC Player of the Year honors her last year, she graduated with a B.S. in Education and coached for one year at Clarksville Academy before returning to Ensworth. She became Head Volleyball Coach in 2020.

"I think my career at Ensworth prepared me, especially in the strength training we do in fitness classes," Ashley reflects. "I was able to come in as a freshman and make a difference in the weight room and, in turn, make an impact on the court."

She also thanks Austin Peay's players and coaches, as her time there prepared her to give back by mentoring girls and running volleyball camps.

Congratulations, Coach Glotta! Read more from Clarksville Online
