Tiger Night chairs

Faces of the PA: Tiger Night Chairs 2024

by Editorial Staff
Meet this year's Tiger Night Chairs, Elizabeth Tardio, Libby Tyner, Catherine Warfield, and Lindsay Wells! They've worked tirelessly to plan an Ensworth community event that you won't want to miss. Purchase tickets now, and join us on Saturday, February 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Conrad Nashville.

What is your favorite part of chairing Tiger Night?

Elizabeth: As a community-driven individual, I am always looking for opportunities to plug in and love bringing people together. Ensworth has become a huge part of my family’s life, and I’m thankful for the chance to hold this meaningful role with my co-chairs. While Tiger Night is a fundraiser for our incredible Parent Association, it’s also a celebration of Ensworth. I’m excited to have had a hand in what, I hope, brings our community together to celebrate the beloved school we call home.

Libby: I have enjoyed spending more time at Red Gables for our weekly meetings. It has been great to get to know the faculty and of course my co-chairs and the committee members. I am grateful for the relationships I’ve built with my co-chairs and so many others from the Ensworth community who have been so willing to support this important event.

Catherine: Definitely the people! From working with my amazing co-chairs to getting to know so many other parent volunteers across the various school divisions has made for an enriching experience.

Lindsay: I have loved getting to know my co-chairs better...you can't help but bond when spending this much time working together toward a common goal! And last year's chairs have been amazing, sharing their wisdom, experience and friendship with us! Spending more time at the school, partnering with the amazing Ensworth leadership and staff, has been a rewarding bonus as well.

What, if any, are your previous volunteer jobs at Ensworth?

Elizabeth: I have served on the Tiger Night auction committee and Faculty and Staff Appreciation committee at Ensworth previously. These were great ways to get my toes wet and get to know other members of the Ensworth community. Chairing Tiger Night has been a wonderful full plunge into the volunteer world at Ensworth.

Libby: I served on the Tiger Night auction committee last year.

Catherine: I have enjoyed volunteering as a Room Parent and serving on the Faculty & Staff Appreciation and Library committees.

Lindsay: I've served on the auction committee for Tiger Night the last two years, and last year was a co-chair of the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Committee for the high school, which was such a great way to get to know more of the faculty and staff at the Frist campus and celebrate them for all that they do for our students!

What is something unique about Tiger Night this year?

Elizabeth: The Conrad is a stunning venue, and I know we are all so excited for everyone to see it. The opportunity to make Tiger Night a staycation is unique this year and one the other chairs and I are looking forward to. We hope many of our Tiger friends will take advantage, too. I hear that the Conrad serves up a delicious post Tiger Night breakfast.

Libby: I am so excited to have this event at the Conrad; the space is unique and inviting. We also have Trey Morris as our auctioneer. Trey has done many well-known events around the country. He will bring great energy to our event and make for a really fun night.

Catherine: One of our goals for Tiger Night was to have a vast array of live and silent auction items and varying price points, and I believe we achieved this. There’s something for everyone!

Lindsay: I'm so excited about our venue, the new Conrad hotel in the Broadwest development in midtown. We were tasked with finding a venue that could hold over 600 people and the Conrad stood out as a beautiful spot with a fun vibe, and most importantly, enough space for our growing community!

What is a fun fact about you?

Elizabeth: I really love a tradition, so we have a few in the Tardio household. One of my favorites is the wedding anniversary tradition my husband Chris and I have. We draw a state from a deck of cards and have until our next anniversary to visit that state. We’ve spent time in many incredible states this way that we otherwise would not have. Summertime in Connecticut and Montana have been my favorites. We’ve also intentionally vacationed in Nebraska, but you can’t win 'em all, right?

Libby: I have completed three full marathons. While my full marathon days are (likely) behind me, maybe after Tiger Night I can find time for some shorter distance races.

Catherine: One of my first jobs out of college was working in fundraising at a school very similar to Ensworth. I feel like this volunteer role has brought me full circle!

Lindsay: I'm an Enneagram 3 and love learning which Enneagram type my friends and family members are. My husband, daughter, son, and I all have a different Enneagram type, so recognizing how we each are motivated and feel appreciated is so helpful!

Which auction item are you most excited about and why?

Elizabeth: We really wanted our silent and live auctions to have a vast selection of items with varying price points, and I think we’ve accomplished that! There are great trips and great offerings for children. The Ensworth experiences are incredible (thanks to our generous faculty and staff!), and there are several art pieces that I can’t wait to share with you all. Also, in addition to the beloved tradition of the kindergarten quilt, there’s a 3rd-grade quilt that the class of 2033 parents will just adore.

Libby: The puppy and the Masters! We are switching things up this year and offering a French Bulldog, one of my favorite breeds. I am also excited about the Masters, because well, it’s the Masters!

Catherine: This is a tough question as there are so many great items! The Ensworth community is incredible, especially our faculty and staff, and many have been so generous to donate their time towards fun and unique Ensworth offerings for Tigers of all ages.

Lindsay: We have a wide range of silent auction items representing many different interests and price points, so I think there will be something for everyone! I'm especially excited about two fun, new items in the live auction this year - a stay at Sea Island Resort, and a guitar signed by Taylor Swift!
