Bring your thinking cap and imagination as you are given a new STEM challenge each day to accomplish and compete with your fellow campers. Students will engage in the engineering design process to create and test prototype designs within various constraints and criteria before improving and retesting their designs. Reading and Writing in the Woods (Grades 9-12)
What do the woods beyond our fence smell like in the morning? How does the light fall in the forest hour by hour? Take a few days to rest in the woods this summer, cultivating a bond with literature, each other, and the land. Beginning with the woods and farmlands outside our own back door, the week includes an overnight camping trip on the Cumberland Plateau. Over the course of the week, you will: take a tour of a working farm, eat fresh cookies in a 100-year-old rural bakery, swim in a waterfall, read among the tree-tops, walk through one of the region's only old-growth forests, and read award-winning nature writing while lounging in the very corner of the forest that it was written about. Our readings, like the course itself, are short and sweet and include selections from acclaimed American nature writers such as Sewanee's own David George Haskell and southern agrarians such as Wendell Berry.

Printmaking and Mixed Media Exploration (Grades 6-12)
In this week-long art camp, students will explore the world of printmaking—learning how to transform their drawings into expressive prints. We’ll begin with some foundational drawing and design exercises before experimenting with hand-printed styrofoam plates to learn the basics of inking, composition, and creating texture. As the week progresses, students will dive into collage and mixed-media projects using their own misprints, magazine imagery, and found material to spark new creative ideas. Building on these skills, campers will explore linocut and reduction block printing with the chance to use portable presses to produce their own small edition of prints by the end of the week! Along the way, they’ll gain technical printmaking vocabulary like inking, registration, editioning, and reduction printing, while developing confidence, problem-solving skills, and an appreciation for the creative process in a new medium. By the end of the week, each student should go home with a new collection of prints to share.

3-D Printing (Grades 4-6)
Get ready to imagine it, design it, and print it!  In this hands-on camp, students will explore the exciting world of 3D modeling using Tinkercad, an easy to learn design tool perfect for young creators. Campers will learn how to turn ideas into real objects as they design keychains, characters, gadgets, and mini-inventions.  Along the way, they’ll learn the basics of digital modeling, experiment with creativity challenges, and watch as their designs come to life on our 3D printers. Whether your child loves art, engineering, storytelling, or just making cool stuff, this camp is a perfect mix of imagination and technology.

Rising Stars Camp - Half-Day. This group will use a combination of red, orange, and green balls on a 36’, 60’ or 78’ court length. In this middle school makerspace class, students will have the full run of the high school Fabrication Lab as they dive into the world of digital design and engineering using both Tinkercad and Onshape—the same cloud-based CAD software used by real engineers. Campers will learn how to build detailed models, test mechanical ideas, and create functional projects. They’ll get hands-on experience with 3D printers, laser cutting, gears, wheels, chains, sprockets, and whatever else they need for moving mechanisms from our Robotics Lab.

Students will build independently and also work together in groups, all while building confidence and problem-solving skills. Coding Express and Simple Machines (Grade K)
All aboard for a fun-filled journey into the world of coding and engineering—designed just for our youngest learners! Campers will explore the basics of coding, cause and effect, and simple machines using hands-on LEGO® Education tools like Coding Express and Simple Machines kits. Ensworth Junior Camp is designed exclusively for incoming Ensworth Kindergarten students and offers a joyful, supportive introduction to life as a Tiger. Join us at Ensworth Swim School’s Splash Into Summer Swim Camp! Designed for swimmers in grades K–4, this fun and engaging camp helps children strengthen their swimming skills while making new friends and creating lasting memories. Campers will build confidence in the water, improve swim technique, and expand their water safety knowledge—all in a positive, supportive environment. The Ensworth Summer Musical is a three-week, full-day (9am - 3pm) complete and immersive learning experience for students looking to dance, sing, act, and simply have fun. This is a great opportunity for students to develop their dancing, acting, and singing skills as they train and rehearse daily toward a fully staged, designed, and costumed one hour plus musical performance. All students will engage in auditions, and be coached in acting, vocal performance, and choreography by our talented and experienced faculty. Directed by Belmont University's Shawn Knight, and hosted in Ensworth's Ingram Arts Center, the Summer Musical is a fun and exciting chance to be a part of a wonderful show fully produced in a technically advanced theater and world class facility. All levels of ability and experience are encouraged as this is fundamentally a great and fun educational program for all. The Ensworth Summer Musical is for grades 6-8. Students are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances as their participation and involvement will be key to the overall production. An Audition workshop will take place in June. Students will attend the workshop or, if unavailable, may submit a video for consideration to Shawn Knight. More audition information will be shared with participants after registration.

Although coworkers Violet, Judy and Doralee are as different as could be, they have one thing in common: their bully of a boss, Mr. Hart, makes their lives miserable. Together, they concoct a plan to liberate their office from his reign. In a hilarious turn of events, the trio gives their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down.

9 to 5 JR. is about teamwork and finding the courage to stand up for what’s right. Through Dolly Parton’s catchy score and a story filled with humor, young performers explore collaboration as a way to create change. This musical is a joyful reminder that you can take care of business with the support of those around you.

LS Musical (Grades 3-5)
This two-week program provides an opportunity for rising Grades 3-5 students to audition, rehearse, and present the 30-minute musical Frozen KIDS. Open to all students enrolling in Ensworth for the 2026-2027 school year. Students are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances. Join Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Sven, and all of your favorite characters on an epic, ice-filled journey of self-discovery, camaraderie, and the real meaning of true love. Adapted for young performers, the musical includes favorite songs from the animated film as well as new songs from the Broadway production.
