Tigers Excel at HVAC Golf Championships
The Ensworth Middle School Girls’ Golf team claimed the HVAC Girls’ Golf Championship on Monday, April 21, at Cheekwood Golf Club in Franklin, finishing with a team score of 80 to take home the title. Grade 7 student Dalton Weprin led the Tigers with a round of 38, followed by Grade 8 students Eryn Evans with a 42 and Poppy Johnson with a 48. MC Conkwright rounded out the scoring as an individual with a 44.
The Varsity Boys’ Golf team competed in the HVAC Boys’ Golf Championship the following day—Tuesday, April 22—at Ted Rhodes Golf Course. The Tigers faced strong competition and posted a solid performance, led by Sebi Erat with a 37, followed by Dudley Brundige with a 38, Luke Jones with a 40, and Jack Dorr with a 41. Ensworth placed fourth overall, finishing behind Brentwood Academy, Montgomery Bell Academy, and Battle Ground Academy in a historically close scoring margin.
A large crowd of parents, grandparents, and teammates turned out to support the team on the course.
“I could not be more proud of these players,” said Head Golf Coach Nate Parrish. “Both the boys and the girls gave it all they had on the course all season long and represented their school with incredible integrity and grit. They were all there for each other when the putts went in and when they didn’t. That’s the hallmark of a team in every way.”
Way to go, Tigers!
