Grade 5 Battle of the Books Team Earns Second Place

The Ensworth Grade 5 Battle of the Books team delivered an outstanding performance this past Saturday in Nashville, earning second place in their first-ever appearance at the competition.

Battle of the Books is a reading competition based on the Volunteer State Book Award middle school book list, which challenges students to engage deeply with a range of high-quality literature. The competition is a quiz bowl-style contest where teams compete on their knowledge of specific details from a curated list of books. The program strives to promote a love of reading, teamwork, and good sportsmanship, often serving as a culmination of months of preparation by students.

Congratulations to our students for demonstrating strong collaboration, thoughtful preparation, and consistent support for one another throughout the event, reflecting both their dedication to reading and their commitment to teamwork. Go Tigers!
