Ensworth Students Earn Honors on National World Language Exams

Ensworth Middle School students recently earned outstanding recognition on several national and international world language assessments, demonstrating exceptional achievement in Spanish, Chinese, and Latin.

On the National Spanish Examination, students were recognized for scoring among the top performers nationwide. Gold Medalists included William Herring, Eva Lemkin, Trinity Otalvaro-Dayon, Alex Rusie, Pearce Perry, Parker Simpson, Ellie Tan, and Kaitlyn Fraher. Silver Medalists included Harper Chambless, Catalina Garza, Colin Ker, Mac Manning, Syon Mathur, Dagny Perkins, Everett Rios, Edgar Robbins, Lucy Smith, Gavin Shah, Henry Elam, Myles Gibson, Peter Kintz, Lilah Palmer, Noelle Taylor, and Kennedy Wilson. Bronze Medalists included Susan Arnholt, Natalie Chick, Ryan Dretler, David McIntosh, Stephen McIntosh, Ella McLauchlan, Blakley Murfree, Aidan Pinsly, Tula Smith, Harper Williams, Obasi Logan, Drew Brennan, Miles Damp, Jack Dorr, Libby Robinson, Nalin Sattasiri, and Caroline Spencer.

Students studying Chinese also earned recognition through the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), an internationally standardized assessment for non-native speakers. Students recognized for Outstanding Achievement for passing HSK Level 1 included James Addison, Harrison Frist, Dominic Bachmann, Willie Mo Belott, Jaylyn Ford, Brooke Glenn, Levi Short, and Mary Wong. Whit Rademacher received special recognition for earning the highest HSK score ever achieved by an Ensworth seventh-grade student.

In Latin, students were honored through the National Latin Exam, which recognizes achievement in Latin language and Roman culture. Grade 7 Gold Medal and Summa Cum Laude honorees included Harrison Bowers, Schuyler Jones, Arman Mansouri, and Eli Remington. Silver Medal and Maxima Cum Laude recipients were Stella Brett, Matthew Bryant, Molly Conover, and Lilly Thompson. Anna Schmucker earned Magna Cum Laude recognition, while Connor Seay earned Cum Laude honors. In Grade 8, Zigi Haun and Kip Keyser earned Silver Medal and Maxima Cum Laude recognition, while Betsy Blair and James Robinson earned Magna Cum Laude honors and Mattie Ann Harwell earned Cum Laude recognition.

Students were also recognized on the National Classical Etymology Exam. Zigi Haun earned a Gold Medal, while Betsy Blair, Kip Keyser, and Elliott Roth earned Bronze Medals.
