Ensworth Students Shine at TMTA State Math Contest

Ensworth is proud to celebrate the achievements of 35 outstanding students who recently represented the school at the TMTA (Tennessee Mathematics Teachers Association) State Math Contest, held at Lipscomb University on April 8, 2025.

These students were selected for the team based on their excellence in mathematics throughout the year, including classroom performance and participation in local math competitions. During the contest, each student took an 80-minute test consisting of 40 multiple-choice questions in their chosen subject area. The event brought together over 300 students at the Lipscomb University testing site, with thousands more competing at other colleges across the state.

“Our students embraced the challenge enthusiastically,” said faculty sponsors Sharon Glenn and Melissa Fogaros. “They took academic risks, supported one another, and engaged in meaningful mathematical conversations after the test. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and performance.”

Students who placed in the top 10 at the Lipscomb testing site will have their scores reviewed to determine whether they could place among the top 10 in Middle Tennessee and even at the state level. The results will be announced next fall.
