Ensworth AP Scholars Shine, Outperforming National and Global Benchmarks

We are proud to celebrate the outstanding performance of our students in the Advanced Placement program during the 2024–2025 school year. AP courses at Ensworth challenge students with college-level coursework while helping them sharpen academic skills and strengthen college applications.

Ensworth continues to see exceptional results in courses that emphasize advanced writing and civil discourse. The number of Ensworth students taking the AP Language exam has increased by 30% while sustaining a 100% pass rate. AP Literature now includes roughly half of the senior class and maintains a 100% pass rate with an average score of 4.17. AP U.S. Government and Politics, which included more than 50 juniors and seniors last year, also achieved a 100% passing rate with an average score of 4.52. 

The AP Scholar Awards are part of a nationwide recognition system administered by the College Board that honors students who earn strong scores on multiple AP Exams. Across the United States, these awards are conferred each year to students who meet specific performance benchmarks. Students earn AP Scholar by receiving scores of 3 or higher on three or more exams. Higher honors require strong averages across four or more exams.

Ensworth students did more than earn individual honors; they also outpaced global AP performance in multiple subject areas. Ensworth scores surpassed the global average by 20 to 25 percent in the following courses:

    •    2-D Art and Design*
    •    Art History
    •    BC Calculus*
    •    Chemistry*
    •    Environmental Science

Ensworth students exceeded the global average by more than 25 percent in the following courses:

    •    English Literature*
    •    Computer Science*
    •    European History*
    •    Human Geography
    •    Language and Composition
    •    Latin*
    •    Physics 1*
    •    Physics C*
    •    Statistics*
    •    U.S. History*
    •    U.S. Government*

*Denotes 100 percent class pass rate. English Language and Composition also received a 100 percent class pass rate.

These results illustrate not only the academic strength of individual students but also the intentional design of Ensworth’s AP program. While all Ensworth academic courses are rigorous, college-preparatory experiences, AP classes provide students the opportunity to pursue advanced study in disciplines aligned with their interests and goals. 

The achievements of Ensworth’s AP Scholars reflect a culture that values intellectual curiosity, disciplined study, and meaningful academic challenge. As our students prepare for college and beyond, their performance demonstrates both readiness and resilience.
