Mural by 7th Graders Illustrates the Hydrologic Cycle

Three Grade 7 science classes banded together to create a beautiful mural illustrating the complex hydrological cycle. The artwork now hangs in the Hart Discovery Center.
Mrs. Little gave her students simple instructions: to create an illustration that describes the water cycle, climate, and topography. How to accomplish this was left up to the students. Through the process, three creative directors emerged to oversee the drawing and coloring. And another set of students did the research, typography, and printing of the labels.

Pleased by the students’ ingenuity, Little was encouraged that the students were able to synthesize a variety of concepts from class into a coherent, beautiful work of art.
