Summer at Ensworth Camp Spotlights
Summer at Ensworth has opportunities for young actors, athletes, scientists, musicians, storytellers, explorers, or all of the above! Whatever their interest, Ensworth offers a camp or course that will provide enrichment, enjoyment, and inspiration.
Learn about a few of the more unique camps at our Lower/Middle School.
Ensworth even has camps for preschoolers, ages 4 (after March 1, 2018) through 5. Cubs Club campers will enjoy indoor and outdoor activities, water play, music, crafts, circle time, stories, nature walks, lunch, and lots more. Kindergarten teacher Megan Florentine ensures that the tiger cubs will find a variety of activities to keep them busy and entertained. Cubs Club has two sessions: Week 1 (June 4–8) and Week 2 (June 11–15).
Amy Skillicorn, a new addition to the Middle School Latin faculty this academic year, has created the Dinosaur Camp for rising Grades 2-3 students. Ms. Skillicorn has become known for her fun, interactive, and engaging projects in her classroom, such as Pegasus Day. Activities in Dinosaur Camp include making sand fossils and baking footprint cookies. Dinosaur Camp runs during Week 1 (June 4–8).
Students in rising Grades 3-5 will get a workout for their brain at ThinkFun Games Camp, hosted by Middle School math teacher, Melissa Fogaros. The camp includes variety of mind challenging games in a fun, social environment. The popular ThinkFun brand games—including Rush Hour, Grid Works, Square by Square, Chocolate Fix, and Hot Spot—encourage critical thinking skills, spatial reasoning, and logic. ThinkFun Games Camp runs during Week 1 (June 4–8).
Grade 5 classroom intern, Jordan Andes, has become a source of several successful, creative camps in past years. He reprises the popular Junkyard Wars camp this summer, challenging students in Grades 4-7 to solve unique problems by transforming everyday objects into something extraordinary. Campers will learn if they have what it takes to turn bottles and toothpicks into towers and bridges. They’ll never look at cardboard or duct tape the same way! Junkyard Wars has three sessions: Week 2 (June 11–15), Week 3 (June 18–22), and Week 4 (June 25–29).
