Visual Arts Students Paint Guitars for Charity

Two Ensworth studio art students paired cancer research and the music industry with a special art project. Alexandria Amamalie-Bolia and Camilla Wildman custom-painted electric guitars, donated by Gibson, to benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation.
The non-profit, whose regional office is based in Nashville, is "the music industry’s leading foundation that funds innovative medical research focused on finding treatments and cures for cancer." The art will be auctioned off at the T.J. Martell Foundation's Music Kids Helping Music Kids event in early 2018.

Adding to the value of the guitars are signatures of some of Nashville's most famous and talented musicians. Camilla's guitar, entitled "The Ego of Man," bears the signatures of Vince Gill, Amy Grant, and Desmond Child. Camilla's guitar, called "Love and Chaos" features Tim McGraw's and Faith Hill's signatures.

Both Alexandria and Camilla excel in Ensworth's excellent Visual Arts program and also serve on the Art Crew for the Technical Theater Team and will assist with the set and props design for the musical production.

Gibson, headquartered in Nashville, donated another guitar to Ensworth for use by the Rock Band. Keep an eye out for it in future concerts and assemblies.
