Chinese New Year Celebrations

Happy Year of the Rooster! From kindergarten to twelfth grade, Ensworth students have been celebrating the new year in style with dumplings, calligraphy, origami, poems, songs, and more.
Outside of the classroom, Ensworth had a strong showing at the Chinese Arts Alliance of Nashville Chinese New Year Celebration. Over 40 Ensworth students gathered to perform a poem, song, and celebrate the new year.

In the classroom, Ms. Tseng, middle school Chinese teacher, helped students make dumplings and learn about new year traditions. Mrs. Harris, the lower school Chinese teacher, helped students celebrate with crafts, poems, and even a dragon. Ms. Wang, the high school Chinese teacher, taught students how to make tea, do calligraphy, fold origami, and how to make dumplings.

There’s only one thing left to say - 鸡年大吉!
Please enjoy these photos of our celebrations around campus.
