26th Annual Scholastic Art Awards

This year, we had two AP studio students, Shona O'Bryant and Sam Slipkovich, win several awards at the 2017 Regional Scholastic Art Competition hosted by Cheekwood Museum.
Shona O'Bryant won a Gold Key Award in Drawing and Illustration for her piece Deconstruction of a Nintendo DS (Colored pencil/pen). You can view her work, as well as other Gold Key winners, at Cheekwood in the Museum of Art from February 4th – March 5th. All Gold Key winners will compete against other regions for further National distinction.

Shona O’Bryant also won three Silver Key Awards in:
Drawing and Illustration: Adam (Copic Marker)
Drawing and Illustration: King's Control (Colored Pencil/Mixed Media Collage)
Printmaking: Two Cakes (Hand colored Intaglio)

Sam Slipkovich won two Silver Key Awards in:
Drawing and Illustration: RYB (Color pencil/Gel pen)
Drawing and Illustration: Lush (Oil Pastel)

The Awards Reception to honor Gold and Silver Key winners and teachers will be held in Cheekwood’s Massey Auditorium in Botanic Hall this Saturday, February 4th, from 1 - 2:30pm.
