Of the Class of 2023, six will sign letters of intent to play sports at the collegiate level in baseball, basketball, golf, tennis, and volleyball at 3:35 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9.
Katie Barrier, coming off a state runner-up season, will sign to play volleyball at the University of Tennessee. Her teammate, Hannah Scott, will also sign for a Division I volleyball program in the College of Charleston Cougars.
Pete Daniel, a standout on Jason Maxwell’s baseball team, will sign for the Belmont Bruins squad. His basketball teammate, Devaki Garr, will sign a letter of intent to play hoops for the Division II Union University Bulldogs.
Two state champions round out the group of seniors. Fresh off a TSSAA Division II-AA State Championship, Ethon Stanford III will sign for the Division I University of Dayton Flyers. And Hank Trondson, who captured the first State Singles victory for the Tigers in May, will sign to play tennis at the University of Oklahoma.
