Middle School Tennis Teams Finish Season with High Honors

Ensworth’s Director of Tennis, Greg Chambers, updates the community on the Middle School Boys’ and Girls’ Tennis teams’ performance at the HVAC Championships on Tuesday.

Boys

We enjoyed excellent MS Boy's Tennis on display today.

The final point tally was Ensworth 7, MBA 7, Brentwood Academy 1. The tiebreaker went to MBA, as they won the most flights.

All Ensworth 3 singles players and both doubles teams won their first rounds to advance to the HVAC final match in their respective flights.

Congratulations to Ensworth #1 singles player Edward Coppeans for winning his flight championship and to Ensworth #2 singles player Mason Brunson for winning his flight championship.

Edward defeated MBA's #1 8-3 to advance to the final. In the final, Edward was down 0-4 to a strong BA #1 and made some adjustments to come back and win 9-7.

Mason defeated a very solid BA #2 to avenge an earlier season loss with an 8-5 win and followed that with a win over #2 from MBA – also 8-5.

Girls

Ensworth Girls finished a solid 2nd today in the HVAC Division AA Tournament today. The final point tally was Harpeth Hall 8, Ensworth 6, Brentwood Academy 3, USN 0.

Congratulations to Ensworth #1 Singles player Avery Franklin for her flight championship! I'm excited to have Avery be the 3rd player in school history to start on the HS team this Spring as an 8th grader.

Today was a very close outcome. I'm proud of the way our girls competed and supported each other both on and off the court. I'm also pleased with the way our parents supported our players and were respectful to all the MS players on both sides of the court.
