Tyra Gittens ’17 Wins NCAA Individual Championship in Heptathlon

Texas A&M Aggie and 2017 Ensworth graduate, Tyra Gittens, won another national championship, this time in Heptathlon.
Tyra claimed her first two national titles with the Aggies in March at the indoor championships with a first-place finish in Pentathlon and High Jump, earning her the NCAA National Field Athlete of the Year award. Her latest victory came over the weekend at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon in Eugene with 6,285 total points in Heptathlon. The event includes 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, the 200m, long jump, javelin throw, and the 800m.

At just a redshirt junior and already having qualified for the Tokyo Olympics in the long jump, keep an eye out for more accolades.
