Ensworth Teachers’ Transition to Online Learning Highlighted in Education Journal

The Center for Responsive Schools has focused on the work of two Ensworth educators in the recent issue of the Journal of Social and Emotional Learning on the topic of online learning.
Kindergarten teacher Megan Florentine and Middle School English teacher Emily Parrelli have worked for over two years on Responsive Classroom, an innovative approach to teaching, as part of an in-depth professional development program.

The journal articles underscore the importance of the teachers’ Responsive Classroom training to prepare their students for the rapid transition to online learning after the COVID-19 outbreak.

The summer 2019 issue of Ensights magazine looked closely at Responsive Classroom. The method has been adopted throughout the Red Gables Campus with many teachers from K–8 participating in intensive professional development programs.
