Chicago's Jimmy Pankow Jams with Jazz Band

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, Jimmy Pankow of the band Chicago, talked and jammed with the high school Jazz Band class on Thursday.
Mr. Pankow spoke to the students on various topics including the therapeutic value of music, the importance of practice, and his long and storied career. He then joined the Jazz Band for a song they had been working on for a long time, the Allman Brothers Band’s “Midnight Rider.”

The musician will be on hand at the 2020 GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, January 26 to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work with Chicago.

Pankow’s son, Carter ‘17, is a student at the Berklee College of Music. His daughter, Lilli, is a senior at Ensworth.
