Middle and High School Swimming and Diving Teams Excel at Regionals

Ensworth’s middle and high school aquatics teams excelled at the regional championships at Centennial Sportsplex last weekend.
On Friday, January 25, the high school swimming and diving team competed in the Middle Tennessee High School Swimming Association (MTHSSA) High School Region Championships, with both the men and combined teams taking first place overall. First-place finishers in individual and relay events included Patrick France, Michael Glasson, Cole Kennon, Noah Lucy, Rob McCall, and Evan Petty. For full results, visit the MTHSSA results page.

The next day, the middle school swimmers shined at the Middle School Swimming & Diving Championships, with the girls’ team finishing fifth place, including fourth place in the 200 free relay and fifth in the 200 medley relay. The combined team finished sixth overall. Highlights include Sofia Al-Kurdi capturing first place in the girls 1-meter diving, with Kate Mischinski and Lucy Wallace finishing seventh and ninth, respectively. Trevor Richter and Aaron Mixon finished third and fourth place in the boys 1-meter diving. The Tiger swimmers were led by top 16 finishers and finalists Alex Glenn, Leah Jackson, Elizabeth McWilliams, Kenzie Robbins and Sidney Tompkins.

In the high school state championships on February 8-9 at Centennial Sportsplex, the combined team placed 3th, with the boys’ and girls’ teams coming in 4th and 5th place, respectively. Kallie Chelsvig ’20 placed first in the Women 100 Freestyle.

The MTHSSA also recognized outstanding swimmers on their First and Second All-Region Teams. Ensworth swimmers made the following teams:
