Application Steps

List of 3 items.

  • Step 1: Complete Online Application

    Recommended Deadline: January 5, 2024
To apply, visit the online application. Your email will be required to create an account that will allow you to complete the application and track steps in the admission process through the parent portal. Applications are accepted after the deadline, but please contact the admission office before applying for guidance about the late application steps.
  • Step 2: Submit Required Forms

    Recommended Deadline: February 2, 2024
    • Teacher recommendation forms from the applicant’s current English and Math teachers are required. If both subjects are taught by the same teacher, they should complete the first page of subject-specific questions on both forms but only need to complete the second page on one of the forms. Forms can be requested through the parent portal or by downloading them on this page. We ask that you submit recommendations after December 1, 2023 so the teacher has sufficient experience with your child to give feedback. If your child’s school has a policy that does not allow teachers to complete the form, please request the Optional Recommendation Form from the admission office so that it can be sent to an adult who has worked closely with your child in another capacity (example- coach, mentor, tutor, youth leader, etc.)
    • A transcript release form must be completed and submitted to the applicant’s current school. The form can be downloaded from the link on this page.
    • All applicants must complete the Applicant Statement Form and submit it to Ensworth. The form can be downloaded from the link on this page.
  • Step 3: Schedule ISEE and Interview

    Recommended Deadline: February 2024
    • All applicants are required to take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Students can test at Ensworth on November 4, 2023 and February 3, 2024, although many other options are available. To submit scores  to Ensworth, use code 432520. The ISEE should be completed by mid-February at the latest.
    • Students are required to complete an interview with someone on the Ensworth admission team. An email with instructions will be sent when scheduling becomes available. Late applicants should contact the admission office regarding this step.

  • Note for Applicants to Grades 10-12

Spaces in grades 10-12 are limited. The first step for prospective families interested in grades 10-12 is to submit an unofficial transcript, progress reports, or a list of past and current high school classes. This allows Ensworth to access any graduation requirement concerns. Please send course information to Julie Harris. In addition to the regular application requirements, 10-12 grade applicants will be required to complete additional proficiency testing. Note: We accept the PSAT or SSAT in lieu of the ISEE. Results must be no more than a year old.
Admission decisions will be available online on March 2, 2024. Replies are due by March 6, 2024.
