Knitting Club (Grade 2-5)

Knitting Club is back! A true Ensworth tradition, children in Grades 2-4 will learn how to knit (or further develop their skills). Everyone will make a hat. All supplies will be provided.

How-To Drawing Club (Grades 1-3)

Do you like to draw? Do you want to know how to draw all the things? Grab a pencil and your sketchbook, and join Mrs. LeDuc for a fun class where you will learn how to make what you love come to life. Each week will center around a different theme with so many new details to draw! (Limited to 16 students) 

KidoKinetics (Grades K-1)

Our focus is on building confidence through play as kids move and learn new sports and develop healthy habits while becoming their own MVPs. Parents can expect their kids to engage in technique-oriented sports activities that combine games, yoga, drills, and exercises that encourage basic skills and brain development. Kids learn a new muscle or bone during each class. Regardless of a child’s level or ability, Kidokinetics programs introduce basic concepts of 20 different sports in a safe, non-competitive, and fun environment. Classes and summer camps include obstacle courses, relays, games, and a sport.

Reading Rocks! (Grades 1- 2)

Do you love books? Do you want to be a superstar reader? Join Mrs. LeDuc and Mrs. Jackoboice every week for fun reading projects that will help tigers strengthen their literacy skills. Limited to 20 students

3D Design And Printing (Grades 4-5)

Have you ever wanted to build something on your computer, then hold it in your hand?  We'll use Autodesk's Tinkercad to create toys and machines out of basic shapes, then we'll use our 3D printers to take our ideas from the screen into the real world.

Ukulele Class (Grades 1-3)
Time 3:15 - 4:15 p.m.
Cost: $300 (10 Sessions)

This class will cover technique, notes, chords, and strumming to foster little ukulele players! The ukulele is very similar to the guitar but with fewer strings and gentler on small fingers. We’ll learn songs that everyone loves! Join your friends and start jamming on the ukulele! Students will perform a short concert for family and friends at the end of the semester. Program cost includes folder/music; does not include the cost of ukulele.

Chess Club (Grades K-1 and Grades 2-5)

Chess Club is an opportunity for K-5 students to learn the basics of chess at every skill level in a fun and entertaining way! Grades will be split up between K-1 and 2-5 so that each group has coaching tailored to their grade level. Each student will also receive a paid Gold Membership to ChessKid.com- a 100% safe and educational chess-playing site. We will create an Ensworth Online Club at the site to keep the fun going, whether we play chess in person or online!

DIY Fashion Accessories Club (Grades 1-2)
Leader: Mrs. LeDuc
Time: 3:15 - 4:15 p.m.

Cost: $150 (6 sessions)
Calling all fashionistas who know how important it is to accessorize! Students will love having a hand in creating their own looks, from their headbands down to their socks. Each day will be a fun-filled, express-yourself art project centered around a new accessory that your child will be able to say, "I made it!" with every compliment s/he receives. (Limited to 16 students)

Sessions will consist of instruction, discussion, and application of various components of healthy friendships through fun games and activities with the Lower School counselor, Olivia Betts. Examples of topics that will be covered are listening, dealing with teasing, and asking for help.

Guitar Class (Grades 3-5)

Students will learn the basics of guitar through the introduction of reading and fun music exercises. Students will learn chords, strumming patterns, scales, guitar notations and more! Violin Class: Level 1 (Grades 3-5)

Violin Class: Level 1 is open to any rising Grade 3 through Grade 5 student who would like to learn to play the violin. Students will learn fundamentals of posture, violin sound production, and how to read formal music notation. Curriculum is rooted in traditional and classical methods and mixed together with engaging activities. Class will focus on sight-reading, rhythmic independence, and language development, along with phrasing and overall musicality. Students will showcase a short performance for family and friends at the end of the semester.

Supply Fee: $10 per session
Join us each month for the CookiE Club. Children will learn various techniques used in creating cookie masterpieces with royal icing. Each child will decorate at least six cookies each month, and every month will feature a different seasonal selection of cookies. Registration available by single session. Come as often as you like. Cookies cannot be made with gluten free options. (Limited to 12 students)

MusicFun! (Grade K)

MusicFun! is an early childhood program that explores movement, music, and
literature. Students explore rhythm and movement together through great stories,
beautiful songs, and fun instruments. Students are encouraged to sing old favorites and new melodies while discovering body awareness. Children have time to bond with each other in educational and creative ways.

Students will also enjoy social Lego games and group building projects.

Generation Pound & International Rhythms (Grades 2- 4)

Generation Pound is a youth-oriented program that fuses movement and music to improve focus, coordination, physical fitness, and teamwork skills. By combining exercise and interactive Activities, kids will learn new ways to explore movement, embrace their creativity, and rock out—ultimately building strength, confidence, and self-awareness. International Rhythms deepen students’ cultural understanding through the exploration of diverse music and movement. Understanding rhythms is the key to understanding other cultures. 

Board Game Camp (Grades 2- 4)

If you enjoy playing board games or card games, then this camp is for you!  We will explore various genres of games including drafting games, cooperative games, dice games and student choice games.  Come have fun competing with or against your peers in some good old (and new) fashioned fun.

During this six-week after-school enrichment, your child will be introduced to programming and building advanced models with Lego bricks in the WeDo, Lego Boost and Spike Prime programs. Students will be separated by age group and work in pairs to complete STEM challenges and learn basic scratch programming. This club combines education with fun and excitement.

Designed for the beginner Lego builder, this after-school club will allow your child to bring colorful Lego models to life.  Discover how simple machines and gadgets we see and use in everyday life are made using gears, pulleys, and levers.  STEM concepts will be explored, and beginner coding will be introduced.

Primer Violin Class is open to any rising Grade 1 through Grade 2 student who would like to learn to play the violin. This class will be rooted in traditional and classical methods and mixed together with lots of fun games. Violin students learn the basics of posture, bow-hold technique, and tone production. Students will work together on foundational skills. Students will learn how to read basic formal music notation, all while learning how to play the violin! Class focus will include intonation and age-appropriate sight-reading, and the development of rhythmic independence, phrasing, and overall musicality through movement, singing, and playing. Students will gain valuable experiences exploring and playing music with others. Primer Violin Class will showcase a short performance for family and friends at the end of the semester. (Violins will be available to rent).
