Faculty Five with Mr. Herring

This week, catch up with High School Spanish teacher, Señor Herring.
What's your favorite thing about Ensworth?
My favorite thing about Ensworth is the people.  I have great colleagues and work with fantastic students.

Do you have a favorite memory? If so, what is it?
My favorite memory has to be the summer trip to Spain that I took with Señora Bauchiero and twelve of our students in the summer of 2015.  It was a fantastic group and we had a great time!

What is your favorite thing about teaching?
My favorite thing about teaching is that no two days, no two classes, no two years are ever the same.  There is always something new.

If you could travel anywhere this summer, where would you go?
I am going to chaperone the Cuba trip this summer and am really looking forward to it.

What is your favorite Nashville restaurant?
Ask me again in a few days because there seems to be a new great restaurant every week!  Right now, Etc and Nicky's Coal Fired are right up there.

What do you hope students take away from your class?
hope students take away an appreciation for another culture, but, perhaps just as important, I hope they come away with a greater sense of self discipline and responsibility.

If you could sum up Ensworth in 5 words, what would they be?
I am very close to my family and being 600 miles away from them is hard.  There have been several difficult times in which I have had to lean on friends that I made through Ensworth, and I am forever grateful for them.  In short, I could sum Ensworth up as "my family away from family".
