Artist in Residence

Established through the generosity of an endowed gift, the Artist in Residence program brings in experts in various artistic fields to the High School for a series of sessions within current classes, exposing students to new and innovative ideas and introducing them to influential leaders of the Nashville arts community.

  • Susan Beiner ceramics

    Susan Beiner, Renowned Ceramics Artist, to Serve as Teaching Artist

    Renowned ceramics artist Susan Beiner will work with high school students as a teaching artist for a week in March. The week will culminate with a reception on Friday, March 8 for her show, which is currently on display in the Ingram Arts Center.
  • Artist in Residence: Rock Band to Record Album

    As part of the Artist in Residence program, the High School Rock Band is recording and producing a record at Nashville’s famed Blackbird Studio this semester with the help of musician, producer, and educator Bryan Clark.

  • Ensworth Presents: Searchers

    This year’s spring play represents a first for the Ensworth Theatre program. Due to Ensworth’s artist-in-residence program, we were able to recruit Playwright-in-Residence, Laurie Brooks, to come onboard and create a new, original play with the input and help of our students. Laurie Brooks is an award-winning playwright who is known for her innovative After-Play forum designs that are changing the way audiences engage with the post-performance experience.
