Summer Grant Program

High school students at Ensworth with strong academic records as well as leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities have the opportunity to apply for grants for Summer Academic Programs throughout the world.

Summer grants are available for current Ensworth freshmen, sophomores, and juniors to support their participation in academic enrichment programs during the summer. Eight students will be awarded grants to be applied toward the overall expense of their specified programs.

Application

Application  materials  are  also  available on  the Tigernet Resource Board.  Interested students should begin the application process as soon as possible, as the application materials are substantial and include several faculty signatures. Completed applications should be submitted in a single email to hsgrants@ensworth.com with all application materials attached. The application deadline is 3:20 pm on Tuesday, April 16.

Selection

All awards are merit-based. The following are the primary factors for selection.

  • Academic Record, including GPA as well as Optime Merens and Cum Laude recognition
  • Quality of application
  • Leadership and extracurricular participation
  • Previous Ensworth awards
  • Preference given to those who have not previously received Ensworth grants
     

Responsibilities

Students  who  are  selected  may  be  asked  to  share  their  experiences  with  Ensworth classmates, faculty, parents, and members of the Board of Trustees. Students should be prepared to speak during meetings or school assemblies, to share pictures and stories from their programs, and to complete a written reflection of their experience or a blog during their experience for sharing with the Ensworth community.
