Visual and Performing Arts
Arts courses are designed to challenge and encourage students at all levels of experience in both performing and visual arts. Courses consist of academic electives in dance, music, theater, and visual arts as well as performance ensembles in dance and music.
Academic arts courses include theoretical, analytical, critical, or historical studies in the arts or with the development of specific skills within a discipline. Performance ensembles focus on developing skills through the process of preparing for and presenting public group performances. While some academic courses likewise build skills that relate to performance and may at times offer public performances, they also invest significant time in exploring and reflecting on those skills through academic assignments and assessments such as reading, writing, and discussion.
