Join Ensworth
Working in an environment that promotes academic excellence and curiosity isn't just about shaping the minds of tomorrow; it's about being part of a transformative journey. It's about witnessing the spark of understanding in a student's eyes, the moment when they realize the power of their own intellect.
Joining Ensworth means becoming part of a community dedicated to nurturing intellect, fostering creativity, and instilling a lifelong love of learning. It's more than just a job; it's a calling—an opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of our students as we prepare them to make meaningful contributions to our community and beyond.
Faculty Spotlights
I think teaching is in my blood. I studied psychology and earned my Master's in counseling, so I expected working with children would be the path I would take. I know how great the education and the community can be in an independent school. I attended one for 12 years and loved it. When I moved to Nashville to attend grad school at Peabody at Vanderbilt, I was very fortunate that a position at Ensworth opened that same summer. It has been the perfect fit.
WHITNEY EARHART
Grade 4 Teacher
B.A., Psychology; M.Ed., Human Development Counseling
I grew up in Nashville, so I have always been aware of Ensworth as a strong academic institution with a tight-knit, family feel to it. However, it was the student profile that primarily drew me to the school. I knew Ensworth students to be inquisitive, intelligent, hardworking, and considerate—who doesn't want to teach a classroom full of kids like that? I was also excited about the opportunity to work with the tremendous faculty here at Ensworth, faculty who are the best in their fields and contribute to the sense of community that is so welcoming and encompassing.
JAMES DOUGLAS
Middle School Director of Admission; English Teacher
B.A., English; Communication Studies M.A., English
After teaching for several years at an undergraduate level, I wanted to teach at a high school to help students build a strong foundation that will help them succeed in college. I realized that the guiding principles of Ensworth, including the mission and the vision of the institution, were very closely aligned with mine. After touring the community, I realized Ensworth was surely my second home.
