Support Ensworth

Ways to Give

Gifts to the school may be made in a variety of ways: by a one-time gift of cash, by transfer of securities, or through a bequest or charitable lead trust, to name only a few. The Development Staff is pleased to work with you in structuring gift opportunities that ensure your philanthropic goals are met while best supporting the needs of the school.

All gifts are subject to compliance with Ensworth’s Gift Acceptance Policy, as outlined by the Board of Trustees. Ensworth is a 501(c)(3), and contributions to the school are tax deductible upon compliance with the Internal Revenue Code.

The Ensworth fiscal year runs from June 1st through May 31st.
Cash Gifts
Make checks payable to The Ensworth School and send to:
The Ensworth School
Attn: Development Office
7401 Highway 100
Nashville TN 37221

Credit Cards
To make a gift via credit card, please click on Give Online to access the online giving form. Please note that at this time we accept credit card gifts for the Annual Fund only, not for Capital Campaign payments or other fundraising activities.

Securities
To make a gift of stock, please use the following DTC instructions:
Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. – DTC No. 0164 –code 40
For credit to The Ensworth School – Account No. 20082988
As gift from “Donor’s name.”
Please notify the Development Office at Ensworth School in advance of the transfer by contacting Becky Puckett at 615-301-5376 or puckettb@ensworth.com. This notice is often our only way of determining the identity of a donor.

Donor Advised Funds
Ensworth is able to receive contributions from donor advised funds. In a donor-advised fund, donors make an irrevocable contribution to the fund and receive an immediate tax deduction. The fund invests the money in an account the donor creates--donors only recommend which charities should receive their contributions; the fund makes the actual grants.

Corporate Matching Gifts
Many organizations have corporate matching gift programs that can double and sometimes triple the value of your gift. If your company has a matching gift program, please ask your human resources representative for a matching gift form to submit with your gift. The Ensworth Development office will take care of the rest.

Bequests
Bequests are the easiest form of charitable estate planning and enable you to name Ensworth in your will. With a bequest, you become a member of the John Comfort Society at Ensworth. To find out more, visit our page on Planned Giving

Life Insurance and Retirement Accounts
You can make a deferred gift by donating a life insurance policy to Ensworth or simply naming us as the beneficiary. Your retirement account can pass directly to Ensworth as your primary beneficiary, or it can be transferred to a deferred giving arrangement that will pay an income for life to a family member, after which the remaining assets pass to Ensworth. To find out more about these options, contact Bedell James at 615-250-8919 or visit the Planned Giving page.

Tangible Personal Property
Examples of gifts of tangible personal property are furniture, art work, books, valuable collections, etc. All gifts of tangible personal property must go through an approval process before the gift is finalized. Gifts of tangible personal property that are legitimately appraised and satisfy the "related use" standard may also qualify for a tax deduction.

Real Estate
The simplest way to donate real estate is by deeding clear title to Ensworth, giving property that is free of mortgages and liens. When you make such a gift, you may be eligible to take an income tax deduction based on the current fair market value of the property. There are other variations on an outright gift, as well. To find out more, contact Bedell James at 615-250-8919.
