 | Ensworth offers an after school care program for current Ensworth students, Grades Pre-First through Eight.
Program: Children are served a snack and have a wide choice of many appropriate activities. Choices include a variety of games and other leisure activities, outdoor recreation, arts and crafts, creative opportunities, and computer game time. Quiet time from 3:15 to 3:45 pm is provided for students to work on their homework. Working on homework is not required on Fridays! After homework time, students may choose from the other activities or just relax with friends in a safe, friendly environment. The staff is always ready to help with homework, to play games, or to just talk and listen.
Parents may make standing reservations or contact AfterCare as needed.
Hours: AfterCare is open on regular school days from 3:00 - 5:45 pm Monday through Thursday. Friday hours are 3:00 - 5:30 pm. Check often for changes in schedule.
Parents whose children remain beyond closing time will be charged a late fee of $1 per minute per child. This late fee will be billed to parents along with regular AfterCare billing.
Fees: Standing Reservations and "As Needed" Reservations are $17 per day. An extra fee may be charged if no reservation is made.
The daily fee ($17.00) also applies to children who connect with a lesson (piano, guitar, etc.) or those who are not picked up at hook-up.
An additional fee of $1.00 per minute will be charged if a child is picked up after closing time. Please call if you will be late - your children worry! You will be billed monthly by the Ensworth Business Office.
Reservations: Reservations are always necessary before we can care for your children. Please use one of the following 3 ways to make a reservation or to get more information:
1. Call the AfterCare number and leave a voice mail for Sara Hurst (383-9674)
2. Leave a voice mail message for Sara Hurst at 383-0661 Ext. 519
3. Send an e-mail to hursts@ensworth.com.
"As Needed" Reservations are required at least 24 hours before your child needs to attend. All students need a completed registration form.
Parents are also asked to notify the classroom teacher that your child will be attending AfterCare that day if the reservation is not a standing one. We look forward to caring for your children after school!
Picking Up Your Child: To pick up your child from AfterCare, park in a designated parking space in the lot closest to the Pre-First Grade wing (next to Ensworth Place). Walk down the drive behind the school. AfterCare is located on lower level of the Frist Hall building. The entrance is opposite the playground. For student safety, vehicles are not allowed on the drive. Children must always be signed out at the AfterCare desk before leaving.
