This summer, I volunteered at Preston Taylor Ministries with the intention of spending time with kids and listening to their stories. I was matched with the middle school program and spent my time baking cookies, playing soccer, doing Bible studies, and laughing until our stomachs hurt. After watching how kids were deeply affected by the interactions they had with other people, I decided that I wanted to research the influence of peers/friendships on childhood development to better understand just how important social factors are in growing up.
