Student Responses
“My talent at Tae Keon Do is not just a talent, but I feel that since I started doing it two and a half years ago, it has affected my life tremendously. I like a lot about Tae Kwon Do, but one of my most favorite things about it is the motivation they give you when you are about to do a move of kick. It is so great to be in something like this, especially when I am showing my motivation in it to all the younger and older tigers out on the bleachers. Maybe someday they'll grow to be like the black belt I am today!” – Kiran Dhillon

“My talent is singing and playing guitar. I am performing a song called ‘Right Now’ originally performed by Sabrina Carpenter. My mom recommended that I sing it because she really likes the song. I like it, too… I have been playing guitar for two years and singing for my whole life. It is something fun I can do to distract me from homework and other stuff. This is something I want to continue practicing. I'm not sure if I want to do it professionally, but I do have fun playing music.” – Ella Hartman

“I started playing guitar early this summer by practicing with my chord chart on my wall. I also learned songs from YouTube tutorials. I started taking guitar lessons in August at the Nolensville Guitar Academy. I learned most of the songs I know at the Academy, but all of the songs I'm playing at the talent show I learned from YouTube and by practicing on my own. I like playing guitar because I can learn songs by bands that I like, such as Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Foo Fighters, and others. ROCK ON!” – Nathan Hooper

“I am jump roping in the talent show this year. I have been jump roping competitively since I was eight years old, and it is something I enjoy very much. I like it because I love to perform with my friends and I like the competitive aspects of it. It also is a fun way to exercise.” – Anna Lapre

“I have a passion for dancing. I have been dancing since I was five years old. I especially enjoy performing and creating my own choreography. I dance five days a week at Nashville ballet. Dancing is a way to express myself artistically. This summer, I got the chance to dance under a well-known choreographer from a contemporary dance company from California. My dream is to one day be on Broadway.” – Belle Mason
