"Welcome to Ensworth!" It's a privilege to say this many times each year - to new students and their parents, to visitors, to new faculty, to prospective students and parents. It is always a joy to say it! As you look for the school that's the best fit for your child, please consider Ensworth and discover all that we have to offer.
Welcome to Ensworth's program: We are first and foremost a learning community where students are challenged to read, write, experiment, question, and imagine under the watchful guidance of teachers who are also learners and who care deeply about their students. Most of all, we encourage the development of a life-long love of learning - learning in academic classes, on the athletic fields, on the stage, in the art studio, in the school community.
Welcome to Ensworth's community: We are a community of students and teachers, of players and coaches, of actors, singers and directors, of artists and mentors, of parents, faculty, grandparents and alumni. As a parent of two Ensworth students, I see this community at work and am amazed on a daily basis. We are partners in the education of our students, and we treat each other with respect and dignity in all activities.
Welcome to Ensworth's facilities: Children deserve the opportunity to learn and grow in an environment that is safe, attractive, geared to the child's age and independence and that makes teaching and learning fun. Students need art studios and science labs to do hands-on activities as well as spaces in which to interact with teachers and peers. High school students need spaces that encourage collaborative learning as well as independent study. Everyone needs a well-equipped library, an inviting dining hall and playing fields that bring the Ensworth family together.
Welcome to Ensworth's traditions: They are what make this place so special - Orange and Black competition, Field Days, class trips, and Tiger stripes everywhere. Other traditions are not so visible - great academics, teachers who really know individual students, athletics that encourage competition but don't exclude the important lessons of cooperation and personal growth, and friends and classmates with a wide variety of interests and talents. Our charter classes at Ensworth High School will play major roles in shaping the high school traditions of tomorrow - a rare opportunity!
Welcome to Ensworth. Come visit us to see what we're about. We think you'll like it here!
Sincerely,
William N. Moseley
